Why GoCheckMyNews exists
The news is drowning in advocacy, aggregation, and outrage engineering. The scarce thing is a desk that checks the story and shows you the source's track record. That is the entire product.
Too much "news" is noise wearing a press badge: claims sourced to nobody, aggregation of aggregation until the original quote is unrecognizable, one side's telling presented as the whole story, and opinion dressed as reporting. It is exhausting, and it is how readers get misled.
GoCheckMyNews is built on one idea: every story, sourced; every source, rated. We report what actually happened, verify every claim against the official public record and on-record sources before it runs, and show you each cited outlet's published bias lane and factual grade, with attribution, right next to the link. We deliberately read across the political spectrum so the desk never sees one side's telling alone, and a story corroborated across that spectrum says so on its card.
The machine does the grind. A human owns the judgment.
An AI newsroom does the reading, the triage, the fact-checking, and the first draft, every day, without getting tired. But the machine is the staff, not the editor. A story runs only when an independent verification pass confirms it against its sources; anything flagged waits for the human editor-in-chief, who oversees the desk, overrides the machine where judgment differs, and owns every take: no opinion ever goes out in a human voice unless a human wrote it. If that standard ever slips, we drop the cadence before we drop the standard.
Our bias
We are biased toward the reader and against the spin cycle. We weight the official public record and on-record sources most, we read outlets across the spectrum and show you their published ratings, we link every source, and we would rather publish nothing on a given day than publish something we cannot stand behind. We do not endorse candidates, parties, policies, or products, and we do not tell you what to think.
What we are not
We are not an advocacy shop, a partisan outlet, or an advice column, and nothing here is political advocacy, legal advice, or financial advice. We report what happened and, carefully, what it may mean. What you do with that is yours.
